Or a ruler, or simply someone in a position of authority, such as the police, the government, or perhaps a boss. I think this will be the last of the curse elections for now simply because the weather is too nice to be searching for terribly inauspicious times.
The electional conditions
The Picatrix mentions making me two images, so we can cast two charts for each image as per the rules the Picatrix describes for dual-image elections. However, since we’re not actually going to be creating an image of us, we can make do with one election and one image. In this case, the image may be of the enemy being struck down by a suitable “king”. If personal concerns are attached or a true likeness of your enemy is included, all the better.
This is an election made up of two parts. For the first part, when we shall create the image, we want the following conditions:
1. The Lord of the Midheaven afflicting the Lord of the Ascendant or the Lord of the Ascendant cadent from the Lord of the 10th. Note in this case, we don’t merely want the Lord of the Ascendant cadent, but it needs to be falling away from the house in which the 10th Lord is placed.
2. The Lord of the 4th house afflicting the Lord of the Ascendant by square or opposition
For the second part, we bury the image where your enemy and the king are likely to meet (or simply on your enemy’s property) when a fixed malefic sign is rising.
Our election
For the first part, the time is 4:30PM on 23 May. The election is set for London, UK.
Libra is rising and Cancer is on the midheaven. As an added bonus, the ascendant is in Via Combusta. Venus, Lady of the Ascendant is afflicted by a square aspect from the Moon, Lady of the Midheaven. Venus is also afflicted by an opposition to a very strong and malefic Saturn who is Lord of the 4th house.
Electional rationale
The ascendant and its Lord are significators of our enemy as the Lord of the midheaven represents our putative king. The midheaven, as the point corresponding to the highest position of the Sun in its journey, is symbolic of the king or authority. The harsh aspect between the Lord of the Ascendant and the Lord of the Midheaven is symbolic of the discord we wish to create for our enemy at the hands of a powerful person.
Just as the midheaven is the highest point, the cusp of the 4th house, the immum coeli, is the lowest point beneath the horizon of the Sun in its daily path. It is symbolic of death, the grave and endings, and we attract this influence to our enemy by having the Lord of the 5th afflict the significator of our enemy.
