Saturn was dignified by domicile in Aquarius recently and I used the opportunity to create some Saturn Talismans for Longevity, Wisdom and Spiritual Authority that I am offering here for sale. The chart for this election is below.
The election and creation
Saturn is rising in the first degree of Aquarius where he is dignified by domicile and in his own terms. Saturn is just separating from a trine to Venus, and Jupiter makes an out-of-sign applying conjunction to Saturn. The Moon is waxing and in her triplicity in Virgo.
The ritual invocation of Saturn and the consecration of the talisman occurred during Saturn hour, and the talismans were hand scribed on 25x18mm blac onyx cabochon, when Saturn was rising, and set in a sterling silver pendant setting .
The back of the talisman bears the Magic Square of Saturn from Agrippa’s Three Books of Occult Philosophy, as well as the sigils of Tzaphqiel, the Archangel of Saturn, of Agiel, the Intelligence of Saturn, and Zazel the Spirit of Saturn, all of whom were invoked in its creation.
What are Saturn Talismans good for?
Agrippa says of Saturn talismans “They say that this table being with a fortunate Saturn engraved on a plate of lead, helps to bring forth, or birth, and to make a man safe, and powerful, and to cause success of petitions with princes, and powers…”
The Picatrix tells us that Saturn “rules profound sciences, and the science of laws and seeking out the causes and roots of things and their effects, and speaking of wonders and understanding deep and secret qualities… When he is in good disposition and in his exaltation, however, he signifies purity, length of life, exaltation, joy, honor, wealth, inheritance, and the transmission of inheritances to sons and nephews.” – Picatrix, translated by John Michael Greer and Christopher Warnock
A strong Saturn is associated with wisdom due to its “supreme height and propinquity to the highest heavens”, its proximity to the realm of the fixed stars, and with longevity due to the slowness of its motion and its natural significations. Satturn is also associated with authority over evil and chthonic Spirits and is often used together with Mars influences in Goetic operations.
How they work
Celestial talismans created during an elected time when the planetary force is particularly potent are batteries of intelligent energy animated by the Angel or Intelligence who rules that celestial object. One can think of them as physical embodiments of the virtue of a particular planet or star and carrying the talisman imbues the wearer with the virtue. In this instance, Saturn imbues the bearer of the talisman with longevity, wisdom, discipline and all things rules by Saturn as described above.
