Antares, also known as Cor Scorpii or the Heart of the Scorpion, is a fixed star in the Scorpio constellation. According to Agrippa’s Three Books of Occult Philosophy, talismans of Antares are great for improving memory, acquiring wisdom, to appear healthy and to bind spirits.
The Antares talisman election and creation
Antares is rising. The moon is still full. The Moon makes a very tight applying conjunction to Antares (there is just over 1 degree of separation). The tight conjunction between the Moon and the star serves to make the effects of the talisman much more intense than usual.
The talisman was created by engraving the appropriate image and sigil on an amethyst stone and suffumigating with incense composed of birthwort and yew at the elected time, as per the instructions given in the Book of Hermes on the Fixed Stars.
