An election from al-Rijal to apply for a loan

This is a house based election for applying for a loan that is originally from al-Rijal but a version of which is also detailed in Bonatti’s Liber Astronomiae and adapted for our use.

The electional conditions are as follows:

1.  Ascendant in Leo, Virgo, Scorpio, Sagittarius or Aquarius
2.  Moon also in one of the above signs, of little light, and aspecting one of the benefics or Mercury
3. The Lord of the First and the Lord of the Seventh be unafflicted and, if possible, in harmony with each other, and, if possible, receiving each other
4.  It should not be the hour of the malefics or of the Sun

Put the Money in the Bag 2

Here’s a chart set for Wednesday 27 September at 13:00.

It’s the hour of Venus. The Moon is in Sagittarius, it is separating from a sextile to Jupiter and applies to trine Venus. The Moon is “in little light” since the new Moon was less than a week ago.

The Ascendant is Sagittarius (Leo and Scorpio were out of the question since the Sun, the ruler of the former, is debilitated in its fall, and Mars, the ruler of the next sign, is peregrine). Lord 1 is Jupiter who is weakly dignified by face – but then, we are poor, what can we expect?

Lord 7 is Mercury, ruler of Gemini, who is very dignified, suggesting perhaps that we do not bank at Deutschebank. Mercury is, however, under the sun’s beams so perhaps it is not in as a strong a position to act as we would like. Unfortunately there is no aspect (harmonious or otherwise) between Lord 1 and Lord 7 which would have been indicative of a nice friendly exchange between ourselves and Mr A Banker.
