Moon in Cancer conjunct Procyon Talisman election 2023

“The seventh table is of the Moon, of a square of nine multiplied into it self, having eighty one numbers, in every side and Diameter nine, producing 369. and the sum of all 3321. And there are over it divine names with an Intelligence to what is good, and a spirit to what is bad. And of it are drawn the Characters of the Moon, and of the spirits thereof. This fortunate Moon being engraven on Silver, renders the bearer thereof grateful, amiable, pleasant, cheerfull, honored, removing all malice, and ill will. It causeth security in a journey, increase of riches, and health of body, drives away enemies and other evil things from what place thou pleaseth

Henry Cornelius Agrippa, Three Books of Occult Philosophy

The Moon is strong in her own sign of Cancer and expresses her nature in its most powerful and unrestrained form here.  The Moon is a potent and mysterious planet to petition for fecundity, for safe travels, for psychic and mystical experience.  The Moon’s power is magnified by its conjunction with the fixed star Procyon.

A dark moon Saturn election

“[Saturn] rules profound sciences, and the science of laws and seeking out the causes and roots of things and their effects, and speaking of wonders and understanding deep and secret qualities… When he is in good disposition and in his exaltation, however, he signifies purity, length of life, exaltation, joy, honour, wealth, inheritance, and the transmission of inheritances to sons and nephews.” – Picatrix, translated by John Michael Greer and Christopher Warnock

This election is for Saturn dignified in Aquarius and a dark (or eld of) the Moon.  The traditional lore suggests a waning moon is beneficial for such things as invisibility, for reducing the influence of a thing, for malefic magic, or – if we think of the moon as old instead of waning – good for prolonging the effect of things or for long life.

A powerful Saturn election for talismans

“[Saturn] rules profound sciences, and the science of laws and seeking out the causes and roots of things and their effects, and speaking of wonders and understanding deep and secret qualities… When he is in good disposition and in his exaltation, however, he signifies purity, length of life, exaltation, joy, honour, wealth, inheritance, and the transmission of inheritances to sons and nephews.” – Picatrix, translated by John Michael Greer and Christopher Warnock

Mercury in Gemini talisman election

“From the operations of Mercury, they made an image at the hour of Mercury, Mercury ascending in Gemini, the form of which was a handsome young man, bearded, having in his left hand a rod in which a serpent is twined about, in his right carrying a dart, having his feet winged.  They report that this image confers knowledge, eloquence, diligence in merchandising and gain; moreover to beget peace and concord, and to cure fevers…” – Henry Cornelius Agrippa.  Book 2, Chapter 43, Three Books of Occult Philosophy translated by Joseph H Peterson via his Esoteric Archives.

Mercury recently entered his own sign of Gemini recently and will remain in his sign until the 28th of this month. This is a very good time to make talismans and to do magic to increase business, for gambling and speculation, to improve one’s understanding and intelligence, to magnify one’s ability to learn and study, to develop one’s divinatory and precognitive abilities, or to contact spirits through dreams.

A Saturn in Aquarius talisman election

“[Saturn] rules profound sciences, and the science of laws and seeking out the causes and roots of things and their effects, and speaking of wonders and understanding deep and secret qualities… When he is in good disposition and in his exaltation, however, he signifies purity, length of life, exaltation, joy, honour, wealth, inheritance, and the transmission of inheritances to sons and nephews.”– Picatrix, translated by John Michael Greer and Christopher Warnock

This is a rather pleasant (well, about a pleasant as Saturn is likely to get) election to create a Saturn talisman.  Saturn is never going to be an easy planet to deal with, but it is my experience that Saturn in Aquarius is a little easier to manage than Saturn in Capricorn.

Algol talisman election for Courage and Spiritual Protection

“Under the head of Algol they made an image whose figure was the head of a man with a bloody neck; they report that it bestows good success to petitions, and maketh him who carrieth it bold and magnanimous, and preserveth the members of the body sound: also it helpeth against witchcraft, and reflecteth evil endeavors and wicked incantations upon our adversaries.” – Henry Cornelius Agrippa, Three Books of Occult Philosophy, Book II, Chapter 47 (transl. Joseph H. Peterson)
