Since we had a cardinal sign rising in the annual Aries Ingress chart for the USA, the Libra Ingress describes the future of the United States for the next quarter.
1st house – the people of the country
We have Gemini rising with its ruler Mercury in Libra in the 5th house. Mercury has some essential dignity as it is in its triplicity suggesting that the people are in quite a good state. However, Mercury is combust and has only begun separate from conjunction with the Sun. Combustion is a serious debility and the planet is said to be “burned” by its proximity to the Sun.
Although the planet is combust until it is 8′ away from the Sun, a separating conjunction often indicates that those things signified by the planet have recently undergone some sort of trauma from which they are only just starting to recover. This may indicate the start of recovery from natural disasters such as the recent wildfires in California.
However, there is some indication that there may be some trouble ahead yet as Mercury makes an applying trine to a peregrine Mars in Aquarius in the 9th house followed by a square to a very strong Saturn in Capricorn in the 8th house.
Although the trine aspect generally denotes a harmonious relationship, in this case Mercury is in the detriment of Mars and Mars is ruler of the Scorpio intercepted in the 6th house and of the 12th house, this is likely indicative of a misfortune that comes about fairly easily and without much resistance. Mars in the 9th house may indicate trouble arising from international affairs or through legal affairs.
The square aspect from the naturally malefic Saturn may also indicate further issues as the square aspect is by its nature indicative of a troublesome relationship, however this may be mitigated slightly by virtue of reception – Mercury is in the exaltation and terms of Saturn while Saturn in turn is in the terms of Mercury. It is difficult to say what this may presage, as Saturn is ruler of the 8th, 9th and 10th houses, but as Saturn itself in the 8th house, significator of terrible things like mortality and taxes, it is unlikely to be pleasant. At a guess I would suggest an increased tax burden or a financial outlay arising from legal channels or via government edict or due to international affairs.
If we consider the Moon as a general significator of the mood of the people, we see something similar. The Moon is in Pisces and conjunct the 11th house cusp suggesting a preoccupation with government, which is quite understandable with upcoming midterms. The Moon itself is without dignity and applies to trine the benefic Venus. However, Venus is ill-dignified (in her own terms but in her detriment) and is Lady of the unfortunate 6th house and of Taurus intercepted in the 12th house. This is indicative of trouble from secret enemies, illness and general misfortune.
2nd house – the economy, the wealth of the nation
Cancer is on the cusp of the second house, and its ruler, the Moon, is peregrine in Pisces and conjunct the 11th house cusp. The Moon makes an applying trine to Venus who is in her own terms but in her detriment. Venus is Lady of the 6th house and rules Taurus intercepted in the 12th house. The Moon is in the exaltation of Venus and in her terms, But Venus is in the fall of the Moon.
Since the ruler of the second house is without essential dignity, this might suggest some fluctuation but an overall lack of growth in the economy. The trine to Venus suggests some affliction to the economy from secret enemies and potentially from health concerns, big pharma and poisons/drugs.
We consider next the Part of Fortune as an alternative indicator of wealth. The Part of Fortune is angular in the 7th house in Sagittarius. Its ruler is therefore Jupiter who is dignified by term, however Jupiter makes no aspects with the Part of Fortune. The Part of Fortune itself is squared by the Sun and by Mercury and then conjunct Saturn. The strength of Jupiter is a good sign for wealth, but the difficult aspects to the Part of Fortune from other planets are signs of some loss.
We’ve already seen calls by nations like Russia and Germany to establish payment channels independent of the US dollar and SWIFT. It’s likely too soon for this to have a significant impact on the US economy, but it might be suggestive of future issues and a slowdown in growth. Considered together, we can expect to see less potential growth than the last quarter and some fluctuation in the economy.
4th house – the land itself, the opposition party
With Leo on the cusp, the ruler of the opposition party is the Sun who is ill-dignified in its fall and peregrine. The Sun makes an applying trine to Mars who is Lord of the 12th house of secret enemies, spies, etc. There is a mutual reception by detriment, i.e., the Sun is in the detriment of Mars, and Mars is in the detriment of the Sun. This is quite a serious affliction and my tentative explanation for what this might mean is that the collusion between the DNC/RINO uniparty and the secret enemies of the people, particularly those in the legal system (since Mars is in the 9th house), might be revealed and be harmful to both parties.
The Sun then makes an applying square to a powerful Saturn in the 8th house which may indicate trouble arising from government, international affairs or the law.
This does not bode well for the opposition party. We also have Mercury, significator of the people, separating from Sun by conjunction which may be symbolic of those who have abandoned the democrat party (e.g., the #walkaway movement) and a reduction in its traditional minority base as an increasing number of black and Hispanic voters appear to be moving towards the Republican party.
6th house – health of the nation, health services, big pharma
With Libra on the cusp, Venus is significator of the health system and the health of the nation. Venus is essentially weak and separating from a square to Mars. It receives a trine from the Moon, the sect luminary, but the Moon is too weak to offer much assistance. On the plus side, we have both benefics in the 6th house.
An ill-dignified Venus is usually an indication of poisons, overdose or allergic reactions in medical astrology, so we may see cases of drug overdoses, and allergies. We may also see big pharma having some impact on the economy and wealth of the nation.
7th house – open enemies of the people, neighbouring countries, countries involved in open conflict
Sagittarius is on the 7th house cusp, with Jupiter, ruler of the house, in his own terms in the cadent 6th house. Jupiter does not make any aspects. This suggests that, while the open enemies of the country are still quite strong, we may not see much from them this quarter.
8th house – taxes, the money of enemies, mortality, death
We have Capricorn on the 8th house cusp with its ruler, Saturn, in the 8th house. Saturn is strong in his own sign, Capricorn, and has recently gone direct. Saturn receives square aspects from Mercury and from the Sun. Increased mortality may be an issue, especially as Mercury is significator of the people, and this may be seen around time when the Mercury Saturn square perfects. (Incidentally, this may have a negative impact on media too – see the previous post on Mars Saturn conjunction 2018).
9th house – international travel, foreign affairs, religion, law and the legal system
We have Capricorn on the 8th house cusp, so Saturn signifies 9th house affairs. There may be conflict between the people and the legal system, conflict between the legal system and the opposition party, and there may be some pressure on foreign policy from the opposition party and the media. We may see some important things being built in the foreign policy arena this quarter since Saturn in Capricorn is a pretty fruitful sign for building things.
10th house – President, ruling party, government
Aquarius is on the cusp of the 10th house and the government and the President is signified by Saturn who is strong in his own sign in the 8th house. The focus for government in this quarter may be on taxes, money matters and the money of “enemies” and neighbouring countries. There may be a focus on building firm foundations and management of ongoing trade negotiations.
Interestingly for the last two quarters (and in the following quarter) the ruler of the 10th house has been Jupiter. This may indicate either a change in the type of governing style for this quarter.
12th house – secret enemies of people, spies, 3 letter agencies, prisons
With Aries on the cusp, Mars signifies 12th house matters. Mars is peregrine in the 9th house indicating the presence of secret enemies within the legal bureaucracy and operating within the countries with whom the US is currently involved. Mars is afflicted with a very tight conjunction to the South Node which will weaken their influence to some degree. Mars receives trines from Mercury and the Sun which indicates some assistance from the media and the opposition party.
UK
Since we had a mutable sign rising in the annual Aries Ingress chart for the UK, the Libra Ingress describes the future of the UK for the next 6 months.
1st house – the people of the country
With Leo rising, the Sun is the significator of the people. The Sun is very weak essentially and is peregrine and in fall. The Sun is conjunct the 3rd house cusp suggesting the focus of the people on the media, the internet, etc.
The Sun makes an applying trine to Mars, ruler of the 4th and 9th houses, in the 6th house and an applying square to Saturn, ruler of the 6th and 7th houses, in the 5th house. Both of these are quite negative afflictions. In the case of the trine from Mars, Mars is mutual detriment with the Sun, and this aspect may suggest some event which afflicts the health of the people. The square from Saturn also indicates some detriment to the British people from some misfortune or from the open enemies of the people. We might see signs of this quite shortly after the Libra Ingress.
2nd house – the economy, the wealth of the nation
Virgo is on the cusp of the 2nd house, and Mercury, its ruler, is in its own terms but combust and very close still to the Sun. Mercury also makes an applying trine to Mars and a square to Saturn. This suggests that there will be some financial issues for the UK over the next 6 months. The aspects Mercury makes to the malefics may precipitate these difficulties and may come from acts of the opposition party, or from foreign affairs (likely from the EU) or from enemies and neighbouring countries.
We consider next the Part of Fortune as an alternative significator for wealth. The Part of Fortune is in the unfortunate 8th house in Pisces. Its ruler, Jupiter, has some essential dignity (he is in his terms) but makes no aspects with the Part of Fortune or any other planets. The strength of its ruler may offer some protection to the economy.
4th house – the land itself, the opposition party
Scorpio is on the 4th house cusp and so the Labour party is signified by Mars who is peregrine in the cadent 6th house and separating from a partile conjunction with the South Node. Mars receives applying trines from Mercury and the Sun.
The lack of any essential dignity, and the affliction from the South Node, puts the opposition party in a pretty weak place, and the aspects from Mercury and the Sun are likely to hurt it rather than help it.
7th house – open enemies of the people, neighbouring countries, countries involved in open conflict
Aquarius is on the 7th house cusp. The essentially strong Saturn in Capricorn indicates very strong opposition from the enemies of the people. Saturn makes applying squares to Mercury, ruler of the 2nd and 11th houses, which might be indicative of some sort of attack on the economy and on the government/parliament, and the square to the Sun, may indicate an attack of some sort on the people itself.
9th house – international travel, foreign affairs, religion, law and the legal system
Aries is on the 9th house cusp, Mars therefore signifies 9th house matters. Mars is peregrine in the cadent 6th house and separating from a partile conjunction with the South Node. Mars receives applying trines from Mercury and the Sun.
The lack of any essential dignity, and the affliction from the South Node, places the UK at some disadvantage in international affairs, and the aspects from Mercury and the Sun likely indicate significant downturns in these affairs for the UK.
10th house – President, ruling party, government
What is immediately apparent in this chart is that the Midheaven is afflicted by a partile conjunction with Uranus a celestial body often associated with separations revolutions and sudden changes. This might presage leadership changes, either the Prime Minister or within the cabinet. Of course, since by definition Uranus is also simultaneously in partile conjunction with the Immum Coeli, this might also indicate changes in the leadership of the opposition party.
Taurus is on the cusp of the midheaven, and Venus is therefore significator of the Prime Minister and her government. Venus is essentially weak, she is in her own terms but also in her own terms – her position may be more precarious than it appears. Venus receives an applying trine from the Moon who is significator of the secret enemies of the people. Although the aspect is harmonious, Venus is in the fall of the Moon, so may not receive much assistance from the Moon. There do not seem to be any other aspects indicating that the PM receives a serious challenge to her position, so we shall have to see what Uranus has to say.
RUSSIA
Since we had a cardinal sign rising in the annual Aries Ingress chart for Russia, the Libra Ingress describes the future of the Russia for the next quarter.
1st house – the people of the country
Virgo rises, Mercury is in his own terms but combust and burned up by the Sun. The Sun is Lord of the 12th house of secret enemies so I wonder if there might not be some sort of attack on the Russian people soon before the Libra Ingress.
Mercury is conjunct the 2nd house cusp with suggests a preoccupation with the money and the health of the economy. Mercury applies by trine to Mars, Lord of the 3rd and 8th houses, in the 5th house. This is not likely to presage anything good due to Mars’ rulership of the 8th house of mortality. Mercury also squares Saturn, ruler of the 5th and 6th houses, in the 4th house. This too may augur misfortune due to Saturn’s strength and rulership of the 6th house.
2nd house – the economy, the wealth of the nation
Libra is on the cusp of the 2nd house. Venus therefore is significator of the economy. Venus is in her own terms but also in her detriment. This essential weakness may be indicative of an economy suffering from international sanctions. Venus receives a trine from the sect luminary, the Moon, ruler of the 11th house, however its lack of essential dignity and placement in the cadent 6th house may mean that it is not able to offer much assistance. (As ruler of the 11th house, this financial assistance is likely to come from the allies of Russia and from its own government.)
The Part of Fortune is in the unfortunate 8th house in Aries. Mars is peregrine and in partile conjunction with the South Node, a further indication of a weak economy. Mars receives a trine aspect from Mercury indicating some assistance from the government. However, Mars also receives a trine aspect from the Sun, ruler of the 12th house of secret enemies, and this aspect is with mutual reception by detriment, indicating this is something that will actually harm the economy.
7th house – open enemies of the people, neighbouring countries, countries involved in open conflict
Pisces is on the cusp of the 7th house and Jupiter is in his own terms, so open enemies and neighbouring countries are relatively strong. Jupiter does not make any aspects so we may not see much action here. However, Neptune is in partile conjunction with the 7th house cusp, and therefore in partile opposition to the Ascendant, so we might see some treachery and harm come to the people by the actions of these open enemies.
9th house – international travel, foreign affairs, religion, law and the legal system
The immediate concern is the partile conjunction of Uranus to the 9th house cusp indicating sudden changes, reversals, dramatic events in the international arena. In the Aries Ingress we had the malefic star Algol conjunct the cusp, indicating potentially terrible events, and we might see some sudden developments this quarter.
Taurus is on the cusp of the 9th house, and Venus is debilitated, so this will be something to which we will need to pay attention.
10th house – President, ruling party, government
Gemini is on the cusp of the Midheaven, Mercury is significator of President Vladimir Putin. We have already seen that Mercury is essentially strong but weak due to combustion from the Sun. Due to the Sun’s rulership of the 12th house of hidden enemies, this might indicate some sort of attack on the President himself prior to the Libra Ingress.
Mercury applies by trine to Mars, Lord of the 3rd and 8th houses, in the 5th house. This is not likely to presage anything good due to Mars’ rulership of the 8th house of mortality. Mercury also squares Saturn, ruler of the 5th and 6th houses, in the 4th house. This too may augur misfortune due to Saturn’s strength and rulership of the 6th house.
The midheaven itself is conjunct the fixed star Aldebaran, the “Watcher of the East”, a star associated with the Archangel Michael. It is a war-like star of the nature of Mars and Jupiter. Hopefully this indicates a protective influence rather than an omen of actual war.
China
Since we had a mutable sign rising in the annual Aries Ingress chart for China, the Libra Ingress describes the future of China for the next 6 months.
1st house – the people of the country
Scorpio is rising in the Libra Ingress, and Mars is peregrine in the 3rd house. It is afflicted by a partile conjunction to the South Node. Mars also receives from trine aspects from Mercury, Lord of the 8th and 11th houses, in the 11th house, and from the Sun, Lord of the 10th house. Due to Mercury’s rulership of the 8th house, and because Mercury is in the detriment of Mars, this is likely to be an inauspicious aspect. Similarly, although the Sun is significator of the ruler, the Sun’s essential weakness and the mutual reception by detriment means that this aspect is also inauscpicious.
The next 6 months are likely to be uncomfortable for the Chinese people, and the aspects may indicate downturns in their luck.
2nd house – the economy, the wealth of the nation
Sagittarius is on the cusp, and its ruler, Jupiter, is in his own terms and angular in the 1st house. Jupiter makes no aspects with other planets. Interestingly, this suggests that the economy is likely to remain in relatively good condition for the next 6 months.
If we consider the Part of Fortune as an indicator of the economy: the Part of Fortune is in the cadent 6th house in Aries. Mars, its ruler, is essentially weak, afflicted by a conjunction from the South Node, and receives some difficult aspects from Mercury and the Sun.
This certainly tells a different story, and taken together, it may suggest attempts by the government and central bank to artificially keep the economy on an even keel.
4th house – the land itself, the opposition party
The opposition party, such as it is, is signified by Saturn who is strong in his own sign in the second house. If there is any opposition to the ruling party it may focus its attention on the state of the economy. This may suggest that any opposition may come from the central bank itself.
7th house – open enemies of the people, neighbouring countries, countries involved in open conflict
Taurus is on the cusp and Venus therefore signifies the open enemies of the people. Venus is debilitated and in the cadent 12th house, the house of secret enemies, which she also rules. She receives a trine aspect from the Moon, ruler of the 9th house, who is peregrine in the 4th house.
The open enemies of China seem quite weak although they may receive some assistance from some foreign countries, although their presence in the 12th house may indicate little power to do any harm.
9th house – international travel, foreign affairs, religion, law and the legal system
Cancer is on the cusp and the Moon signifies foreign affairs. With the North Node in the 9th house this may be an area of considerable importance. The Moon is peregrine in the 4th house but receives a trine aspect from Venus who signifies partners, neighbouring countries as well as open enemies. There is likely to be some collusion between foreign actors and the open enemies of China, but the Moon and Venus may both be too weak to be effective.
10th house – President, ruling party, government
Leo is on the cusp of the 10th house, the Sun is therefore significator of the President of the People’s Republic of China and his party. The Sun is essentially weak, peregrine and in its fall, conjunct the cusp of the 11th house. The Sun also receives difficult aspects from Mars, Lord of the 1st and 6th houses, in the 3rd house and from Saturn, Lord of the 3rd and 4th houses, in the 2nd house.
This does not put President Xi Jinping in a strong position and may see him focused on gaining allies, however the aspects from the malefics may see some trouble arising from the Chinese people, from general misfortune, and from voices opposed to his economic policy.
